Blast targets Ankara"s central Kizilay neighborhood | 34 dead, 125 injured - PHOTOS, VIDEO - UPDATING
14 March, 12:52 At least 37 people have died after a car bomb exploded in the Turkish capital Ankara, less than a month after a suicide car bomber killed dozens of military personnel and civilians in the city.

Mehmet Muezzinoglu, the health minister, said a further 71 people were still being treated in hospital, with 15 in a serious condition. At least one or two of the dead were attackers, he said. The Ankara governor’s office also confirmed that the explosion was caused by a car bomb.

14 March: Turkey`s health minister says the death toll in the Ankara bombing has risen to 34, 125 people were wounded, 19 of them in serious condition AzVision.az reports.

A senior security official told Reuters initial findings suggested the attack had been carried out by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) or an affiliated militant group, but there was no immediate claim of responsibility.

22.23 The Ankara governor`s office says the explosion in the Turkish capital has killed at least 27 people.

It said at least 75 others were wounded in the blast that occurred near Ankara`s main square.

The explosion is believed to have been caused by a car bomb that went off close to bus stops.

An explosion hit Ankara`s central Kizilay neighborhood on Sunday evening.

22:07 According to unofficial information, at least 15 people were killed in an explosion in the Turkish capital Ankara on Sunday, CNN Turk reported.

After the blast, several fire-fighting trucks and ambulances were seen rushing towards the scene.

Security forces evacuated the area in case there is a second blast.
